Widows Sons ride into Corby……

by Bro Phil Mason (Socket)

On Saturday 24th August the Widows Sons Lodge No. 10011 met at the Corby Masonic Complex to host one of their meetings. Nationally, there is only one Widows Sons lodge, but there are in excess of 60 chapters throughout the country, and our local chapter, Cobble Stones, was instrumental in bringing the lodge to Northamptonshire for one of their meetings, enabled by our very resourceful WBro Mark Austin, who is the Vice President of the Cobble Stones chapter. There was a ‘Ride out’, followed by a breakfast at the complex then a ceremony in the lodge room.

At the meeting in August we were honored to have as our guest our very own honorary member, the PGM for Northants  & Hunts RWBro Mark Constant sporting his very own “Cut”, with his road name of “007”, due to his love of cars and Aston Martins in particular. A great time was had by all.

Afterwards the members rode out to Woodford where they were camping for the night and were also able to enjoy some live music during the evening.

The Widows Sons is a Motor Bike Association, open to Freemasons who have an interest in motorbiking and can become fully patched members. It is ,however, also open to non masons of any gender who have an interest in Motorbiking and they can become associate members.
