Another great Ladies night at the Corby Masonic Complex

It was another successful Ladies night at the CMC on Saturday 3rd June as the Thistle & Rose Lodge held their Ladies Festival.

With W Bro Glenn Harmann and W Bro Andy Mackie directing and introducing , John & Winnie Russell received the 114 guests into the Lodge Room before it was time to head off to the main event of the night, namely the Festive Board. Once again the Main Hall looked magnificent dressed in the colours of Thistle & Rose, namely Purple and White, thanks to Jason and his team, with help from the brethren.

When everyone had seated themselves it was time to welcome into the Hall the Worshipful Master and his Lady accompanied by Provincial Grand Lodge representative and the Masters and their wives of the other Corby and Kettering Lodges.

A tremendous 4 course meal was provided by  Gary , Caroline and their team with Hunters chicken headlining the menu.

After Grace had been sung, it was time to have the first Toasts of the evening. W Bro Scott Morton was in charge of the Ladies toast which was not only executed superbly but contained a few amusing anecdotes supplied by Robert and Fiona Russell.

W Bro Sam Hagen performed the Ladies song with everyone in Hall joining in with the Chorus ably accompanied on the piano by W Bro Chris Wingfield.

At this point Winnie Russell rose to her feet and gave her response. Despite Winnie feeling nervous, she gave a great speech which included a poem especially written for the event.

The Tylers song wrapped up the second part of the evening, after which the Hall was cleared in double quick time, and it was then ready for the evening entertainment, namely “New Vintage Plus”.

This is one band that I can heartily recommend, providing music which had everyone on the dance floor for the majority of the evening.

The night finished around Midnight and from the smiling faces throughout the night you could tell it had been a wonderful evening.
